I am a wife, mother of 3, business owner, and an animal enthusiast. I’m a certified AKC CGC Evaluator, Professional Member of The Association of Professional Dog Trainers, an obedience dog trainer, and breeder of Great Danes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Our family unit consists of myself and my husband, 2 children at home and one at college, and 5 Great Danes, one of which is currently training for AKC conformation shows. In addition, we usually have some visitor dogs either hanging out for training or boarding.
So, you’re wondering if I’ve always been a glutton for punishment? Or, possibly… have I always operated a zoo?
No offense taken.
I have always had some type of animal, as far back as my memory will go. They included cats, dogs, hamsters, parrots, parakeets, finches, chickens, a turtle, and fish of all kinds (fresh and salt water). Back in the day, I longed for a monkey but that was never to be. I can’t say I regret that one after having the 3 children. I’ve bought enough diapers in my life!
Though, destiny has determined that my life will forever include scooping poop of some kind or the other. And, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
I fell in love with Great Danes not too long ago and with everything else in my life, one is never enough. At this point in my life, we have the 5 spoiled rotten Great Danes. And while it’s true that Great Dane’s don’t mind being solitary animals, I just feel like it’s terrible punishement and that everyone should have a friend to play with, cuddle with, and love.
At Dog Blog It!, you’ll find plenty of adventures of all types. I hope you’ll stick around and share some of your stories too.
